On Monday 20th of May the Narre Warren North Scout group visited the Replas Environmental Centre. The children ranged in age from young cub scouts up to 14 years old. And some of their parents tagged along for the ride. The students were so engaged about the plastic pollution problems facing our world, with one asking the simple question… “plastic is so bad, why don’t we stop making it?”. The children enjoyed the interactive nature of the tour and seeing all of the products made from plastic waste. The parents also had lots of questions about the simple things we can do in our daily lives to raise awareness and make a difference. The night ended with the children watching a robot in action and some fun recycling games. Upon leaving the children all said they had an “awesome” time.
