On Monday 4th and Friday 8th of March 2019, 30 VCAL students from Swinburne University visited the Replas Environmental Centre. The students were learning about plastic and the impact on the environment as part of their personal development studies. The students enjoyed new information about plastics and how Australia is currently experiencing a plastic recycling crisis. They were surprised to learn they could recycle soft plastic and how many different products could be made. They enjoyed exploring the showroom and seeing how many plastic bags were contained in the different products. They teachers enjoyed the interactive and up-to-date nature of the tour. Students were able to ask questions along the way and it really tied in with their studies, “it is great to be able to put a visual to what they are learning at school.”
