On Tuesday 3rd of September 25 Year 12 students from Padua College visited the Replas Environmental Centre (REC) to further their studies on the environment. The morning saw the students participate in a beach clean and litter survey and they followed this up with a visit to the REC. They were surprised to learn of the scale of plastic production and how little is actually recycled. The students found the films really interesting and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. The students were able to see all of the different products that were made out of recyclable products and were impressed that there was a better use for the plastic that would normally be sent to landfill. The students now know they can recycle their soft plastics and were going back to school to build a display in the library to educate the school about plastic recycling.
