Knox City Council recently brought two groups of residents to the Replas Environmental Centre for a waste education as part of their Zest4Life over 55s program. The residents were disappointed to learn about the huge amounts of plastic waste we produce in Australia and the current confusion around recycling in our country. The groups really enjoyed their time and morning tea at the centre and left feeling so much more informed about their actions regarding recycling. They were surprised to learn of the variety of products that can be made from recycled plastics and were excited to now look out for the products in the local community. They are going to encourage more people to come and take the tour so we can improve everyone’s knowledge of recycling!
